Holiday Décor Ideas To Transform Your Home Into A Christmas Wonderland

While this year’s holiday season will be different than the others, that doesn’t mean it can’t be great. Spending the holidays at home is not necessarily a bad thing. On the contrary – it will force you to spend time with those closest to you and make the most of what you have. Isn’t that what the holidays are really all about? Still, to make things extra special for this unusual year, why not give it your all and go all out with the holiday decorations? Whether or not you want to spend a lot of money on holiday decor, there will always be great options for you. You might be feeling overwhelmed by everything going on these days, so decorating the house can provide a welcome and necessary distraction and be a fun project to take on! It will allow you to get in touch with your creative side while also creating a warm, cozy, and holiday-ready environment for you to enjoy.

Tie It With A Ribbon

What says Christmas more than red or plaid ribbon? Immediately, when you see it you’ll think of gifts and holiday cheer. So, get some ribbon that you like and work it into your home decor. It can be as simple as weaving some into a garland you have or tying it around a lampshade. Get creative with it! There are no wrong answers here. The only thing to avoid is overdoing it.

Pillows And Blankets

You must have seen this coming. If you know anything about home decor, you’ll know how important throw pillows and blankets are. This, of course, is no exception. When decorating for a specific occasion or holiday, these can make the entire room. If you already have pillows, you’ll just need to get new festive coverings for them instead of buying new pillows. For the throw blankets, try finding warm ones, like fleece, knit, or faux fur. Think plaid or cute holiday designs if you want to go that extra mile.

Twinkle Lights

What makes a room cozier than fairy lights? They truly transform the way a room feels. They add an air of coziness, warmth, and magic. If that doesn’t sound perfect for Christmas, we don’t know what does! Of course, they also are cheap and easy to come by, so get yourself a few strings of twinkle lights and drape them around the room you’re decorating. If it’s a bedroom, maybe drape them over the headboard or the mirror. In the living room, you can place them over the mantle or even around picture frames if you don’t have a tree yet. Additionally, anything sparkly or glittery can have a similar effect.

Candles

Similar to twinkle lights, candles are a must-have for winter cheer. They too make a room feel cozy, warm and inviting. The added bonus of candles is that they can be scented, adding a whole new dimension to the ambiance of a room. You can make the room smell like Christmas or a winter wonderland with just a candle. It’s pretty incredible when you think about it.

Table Centerpiece

If you happen to be decorating your dining room or living room, a centerpiece is a perfect addition for the holidays. Incorporate some berries and vines to really bring in the feel of winter and Christmas. It doesn’t have to be extravagant or large to make a difference, even just a clear vase with some vines and cranberries will add a lot.

Accessories

Finally, any room needs some accessories to really tie its look together. Think small knickknacks that will give it that extra touch. Don’t worry about stocking up on too many, however. Less is more, after all.
